Strategic Planning Meeting - Historic Preservation

Please save the date of November 28^th , 2012 for a Strategic Planning Meeting related to Historic Preservation.  Over the past year, the City Council and Heritage Preservation Commission have been involved in a strategic planning process and the purpose of this meeting is to involve the various stakeholders and interest groups to discuss historic preservation.  We will be covering the following information:
 
·                 What is historic preservation (it may not be what you think!)
 
·                 What is the City’s role?
 
·                 Interactive Case Studies
 
·                 How the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards are applied
 
·                 How other requirements or goals interact with historic     preservation efforts
 
 
Staff from the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office will also be attending.
 
The meeting will be on November 28^th at 6:30 at the Church by the River.  More information will be provided about a week before the meeting.
